Barbara Alamsha

Barbara Alamsha, co-founder of ROCK U 2 The Ocean Springs Academy of Popular Music, has over 20 years of performance and entertainment experience in a wide range of musical styles.  Barbara runs the day to day operations at ROCK U 2, a dynamic music academy that provides private lessons on all instruments as well as programs for bands, vocal performance groups, dance classes and acting for the camera and stage.  ROCK U 2 also has a professional recording studio and video production facility.  As the Music Director of ROCK U 2, Barbara serves as a vocal and performance coach for all levels as well as develops the curriculum for the Band and Vocal Performance Program.  Mrs. Alamsha is also responsible for producing all ROCK U 2 shows and events.



Tim Alamsha

Tim Alamsha, co-founder of ROCK U 2 The Ocean Springs Academy of Popular Music, has decades of experience in the entertainment industry.  Mr. Alamsha has served in leadership roles with The Walt Disney Company, Universal Studios, Marriott International and the Casino Industry.  He is the president of Tim Alamsha Productions which focuses on artist development.  Mr. Alamsha is a music producer with knowledge in engineering, arranging, co-writing and composing all styles of music.  He is an award-winning video producer with expertise in directing, scripting, casting and site-selection.  Tim also teaches classes at ROCK U 2 on the entertainment industry, and on music and recording studio production.  

 
Michelle Robinson

Michelle has an extensive musical background in woodwinds, piano, voice, composition and performance.  She has 25 years of experience in musical styles ranging from jazz, blues, gospel, to modern contemporary and all other genres of praise & worship music.  She has won many competitions both locally and nationally; being ranked in the top 10th percentile in a national competition for the flute category based upon sight reading, performance and style. She has studied music, l
anguage arts, and writing at the University of Southern Mississippi. Michelle  teaches all levels on flute, clarinet, alto sax, piano and voice.


Andy Lee 

Originally from Maine, Andy Lee began playing guitar at age 12 after watching KISS on TV in 1979. Throughout the 80’s, he studied the guitar styles of numerous guitarists including Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani & Steve Vai. Andy eventually moved to Nashville, TN in the early 90’s where he studied guitar under Reggie Wooten & Tom Bukovac. While in Nashville, Andy took on the role of Angus Young in the AC/DC cover bands Sin City and Hells Bell which performed numerous US tours. In 2005, Andy joined Circle II Circle as the lead guitarist. He recorded 4 albums with the band for AFM/Locomotive Sony Records, performed on 5 European tours, 2 US tours & 1 Brazilian tour and was featured in numerous music magazines world-wide including Metal Edge. Andy currently lives on the MS Gulf Coast with his wife and 2 children. He can be seen performing as the lead guitarist for the local cover band ISIS, and Legends In Concert – Celebrity Tribute Shows. Andy enjoys working with the students at ROCK U 2 and sharing his love for music and showmanship.



Melissa Gilmore  

Melissa is a vocal, piano, violin, viola and cello instructor who has a Bachelors' in Music Education with Performance Honors and a Masters' in Music Education from Setnor School of Music in Syracus University. Melissa enjoys giving private lessons as well as working with our Vocal Performance Groups!



Fayth Williams

Fayth Williams is an instructor of violin, viola, and voice. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance at the University of Alabama's School of Music. Fayth has studied orchestral, chamber, opera, and solo performance in programs within the United States, France, Hungary, and Italy. Before moving to Ocean Springs, Fayth taught beginning and intermediate students of all ages at the Community Music School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama



Tim Alamsha Jr.

Tim has been involved in music his whole life.  Tim teaches beginner through advanced Guitar, Ukulele and Bass.  He also works with all of the ROCK U 2 bands and our Summer Music Programs.



 

Charles RIley

Charles Riley has been playing drums since he was a toddler.  He started off playing in church then joined middle school band. Charles continued drumming all though middle school, high school and college. He currently plays drums for the band Black Velvet.  Charles works with several public schools and their marching bands throughout the year as well as teaching beginner to advanced drum students at ROCK U 2.

Jason Adams

Jason is a music instructor at Rock U 2 with an extensive background in brass, guitar (electric/acoustic), bass, piano, music theory and composition. He has been playing and performing music since the age of 12. He attended MGCCC on music scholarship with studies in Music Theory and Psychology. He has played with a variety of projects with music ranging from hard rock, blues and metal to contemporary worship, classical and country. He has recorded and released music for albums and publication companies for authors. Music has and will always be his passion and he loves sharing that with his students.


Haley Lane

Haley Lane is a 24 year old singer and pianist. Haley’s love of music started in early childhood, where she began voice and piano lessons at a young age.  She has been classically trained in Voice for the past 8 years under the instruction of Dr. Christina Burroughs, Dr. Allanda Small-Campbell, and Dr. Kimberly Davis. Haley is equipped teach all different ages and experience levels ranging through many genres. She has passed all piano proficiency exams and is especially equipped to deal with young beginners of piano.  Set to Graduate in Spring 2018 from the University of Southern Mississippi with her Bachelors of Choral Music Education, Haley will be certified to teach music in grades K-12. Haley has received both academic and music scholarships to attend Faulkner University, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and the University of Southern Mississippi. She has also participated in numerous auditioned Choir and A Cappella ensembles at these institutions. Haley has also been awarded Scholarship through the Young Vocal Artist Competition hosted by the Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus and tries to participate in vocal competitions regularly.

Bill has studied piano from age 7 and performed regularly from age 12.  He began playing professionally (Jazz, Pop, and Rock) age 16.  Through high school and college Bill played clarinet, oboe, English Horn, percussion and piano and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition from the University of Alabama. Bill has worked in the concert touring industry for over 25 years in technical support business, including creative.  He enjoys sharing his love of music with his students at ROCK U 2.  Bill and his wife have four children and he performs regularly with several popular music groups on the Gulf Coast.



Joey Miller

Joey Miller started playing drums at the age of 4, guitar at age 6 and piano at the age 8.  He started playing professionally at the age of 12, and graduated from Full Sail at the young age of 20 years old.  He has dedicated his entire life to music.  Joey plays and teaches a variety of instruments including Drums, Guitar, Piano, Bass & Trumpet and several other.  He also spends his time leading Worship for the youth at his Church.  



Tonya Jenkins   

Tonya enjoys  teaches voice and keyboard at ROCK U 2 and is a music graduate from Delta State.  Tonya has experience developing children's music programs and production.  Her husband, Kerry is the music director for the First Babtist Church in Biloxi.
